AGV models VM1 to VM3 – the flexible basis for your material flow
Standard vehicle or process solution?
In practice, AGVs are rarely "off-the-shelf" solutions. Transport tasks vary considerably depending on the environment, load, available space, and process logic. Therefore, CREFORM's VM models are not end products, but rather platform-based starting points for customized AGV and AMR solutions – starting from a single unit.
Typical requirements for AGV platforms
Different loads, wagons and special load carriers
High demands on safety, ergonomics and process stability
Integration into existing lean and logistics processes
Typical requirements for AGV platforms
VM1, VM2, and VM3 cover different basic requirements. Based on these, vehicles, superstructures, transfer points, navigation, and safety functions are designed and constructed according to process requirements. This results in a customized AGV solution from a standardized platform , which can be expanded in the long term. All variants can operate in track-guided or free-navigating mode. Bidirectional travel is always possible in free navigation mode.
VM1 – Superflat
Compact underride platform with minimal overall height
- Passing underneath racks and FIFO shelves
- Tight layouts and limited construction space
- Laboratories, medical facilities, assembly areas
- No lifting operations
- Use of existing infrastructure
- Precise, repeatable handovers
VM2 – Standard
- Material supply for production lines
- Route train and milk run concepts
- Variable transport tasks in logistics and assembly
- Standardized transport processes
- Reduction of manual transport
- Scalable for changes in quantity and layout
VM3 – Bidirectional / Omnidirectional
- Heavy or bulky goods
- Tight production layouts
- Machine and plant feeding
- Fewer shunting and empty runs
- Efficient land use
- High process stability in complex processes

More informationCommon technical basis of all VM models
- Free or magnetic tape-guided navigation
- Safety control, laser scanner, emergency stop
- Fleet management and IT integration (e.g. MES/ERP)
- Automatic charging options (slip contact or inductive)
- Modularly expandable and retrofittable
From VM platform to lean solution
The choice of a suitable VM platform is not determined by a catalog, but by the process itself. Within the framework of the CREFORM Lean Loop, material flow, ergonomics, interfaces, and safety requirements are analyzed. Based on this analysis, the appropriate VM platform is selected and further developed into a customized AGV solution.
