Declaration on accessibility
We are committed to making our website as accessible as possible in accordance with the Disability Discrimination Act (BGG) and the Barrier-free Information Technology Ordinance (BITV 2.0).
This declaration applies to the website https://www.creform.de/.
Accessibility status
Our website was originally developed without fully complying with accessibility standards. In a subsequent step, we have taken measures to improve accessibility for as many users as possible.
Please note: Our online store(https://webshop.creform.de/) is aimed exclusively at B2B business customers and is therefore not barrier-free.
Accessibility widget
We use a comprehensive accessibility widget that can be accessed at the bottom corner of every page. It offers the following functions, among others:
- Contrast adjustment (light/dark, high contrast)
- Control the page via keyboard
- Enlargement of the font
- Hiding or pausing animations
- Deactivating images
- Reading out content (screen reader function)
- Adjustment of line spacing and font (e.g. dyslexia-friendly)
- Marking of links
- Focus highlighting for keyboard navigation
Technical measures in the source code
In addition to the widget, we have made targeted technical adjustments to the website’s source code to improve semantic and functional accessibility. These measures include
- Addition of semantic landmarks such as role=”navigation”, role=”banner”, role=”contentinfo” for screen readers
- Automatic setting of meaningful aria-label attributes for navigation elements and buttons if no label is available
- Labeling of links that open in a new window or tab with a reference to assistive technologies
- Addition of skip links that make it possible to jump directly to the main content, navigation or footer
- Improved button accessibility through automatic naming if the visible text is missing
- Ensure that structuring lists are correctly labeled as such – unless they are used for navigation with links
- Automatic correction and standardization of the viewport specification in the HTML header for better scaling on mobile devices
- Addition of missing alt attributes for images with an empty value to ensure accessibility
A comprehensive technical test (audit) for accessibility in accordance with standards such as WCAG or BITV has not yet been carried out. Nevertheless, we are pursuing the goal of continuously improving the accessibility of our content and reducing existing barriers.
